Place I Would Like To Visit

Linking up with

In no particular order:

1. The Galápagos Islands

The abundance of wildlife, can you imagine swimming with giant turtles?

2. Corfu

But I'd also want to be transported back to the 1930’s. To Gerald Durrell’s Corfu. With its gentle, lazy pace of living, when it was a fishing island and before tourism took hold.

3. Rio de Janeiro

During the Mardis Gras, Vibrant colours, loud music, fun feathers and fantasy

4. Singapore

I visited Singapore as a child and I’ve always wanted to go back. It's exotic, fast paced with amazing food and, (if they still exist) back street tailors who will take one look at you and without the need for measurements run you up a Cheongsam in a couple of hours.

 5. Florence

My dream destination and one that I fell in love with the first time I watched Room With a View. A beautiful city teeming with culture and breath taking architecture.

Wasn't Room With A View such a good movie! And yes, Florence is stunning. Forgot about Rio. A place to go without kids, I'd imagine. Great list!

Yes Singapore would be fabulous, not that the others wouldn't be either. I have just started working on some material for a meeting out in Rio in July. I am just the writer and know they won;t need me on site, but I must say despite being a bit fed up with being away 4 days last week and having to go off again for work for 5 days from tomorrow, if I was asked I might just have to agree to going to Rio!!

Room with a View what a fab film, as 6th formers we were obsessed with the film, but that might of had something to do with my very youn g, very sexy and very desirable 6th form teacher fresh from college, being the brother to Julien Sands, and Julien use to come and see Quintin at school and come in and see us, so we were all fanatics of the film, especially the lake scene!!

You definitely don't want to go to the Corfu that I went to... on an 18-30s holiday!!

Room With a View, possibly my all time favorite film (well, up there anyway!) and no, Rio is one for the grown ups I think.

RP, firstly, make them send you to RIO!!! Secondly, how jealous am I??? Mmm, that lake scene ............

Nel, sadly I'm half a century too late for the Corfu I'd love to see. I'm sure there are parts of it that still have the same charm but I don't want to spoil my vision and although I would like to think I could get away with an 18-30's holiday I suspect Id be directed to the Saga group :)

Florence! Firenze! Oh what a place! The soundtrack for Room with a View is simply divine! Oh Mio Bambino Caro!

I think I may have to amend that to a place I HAVE to visit Gemma. It was supposed to be my honeymoon destination but somehow we ended up in the Lake District! Hmmm .......

Room with a View!! I pretty much picked my wedding destination outside of Florence because of that film. I even had a vaguely edwardian wedding dress with a bustle. I LOVE it!

Room with a view was my favourite film for ages but then I made my husband watch it and he ruined it for me laughing at Julian Sands acting. Bad decision. Love your list though - thanks!

Oh, I've got the Galapasgos Islands on mine too, just an amazing location. She is almost wearing that outfit in the Rio shot isn't she?

Great list.

Great list. I love the idea of the Galapagos Islands...all that wildlife would be amazing, especially the giant tortoises!! I'm following you now :)

Nice list! Rio is excellent. Excellent food. We're not big night life people. The most adventurous we got was eating grilled shrimp with lime sold by some guy walking up and down Copacabana beach...:-)

I've been lucky enough to visit Singapore and Florence, and I can say they are both very worthy of being on your list. They are both absolutely beautiful places.

The Galapagos are on mine too. I have to see the beauty of it before I'm too old to.

Ohh, Rio. That would be spectacular. Singapore...I've been to the airport, does that count?

Obviously I am HUGELY jealous London Mum, it should have been me!!! :)

Oh Kate, noooo, never watch a film you love with a man, particulary when it's got a georgous man in it, a recipe for disaster.

Haha, The Boy and Me, I thought the same thing! If i looked half as good Id give it a go though.

Inside the Wendy House, it would be truly amazing, it's on my wish list so who knows, one day maybe.

I'm not a nightlife person either really Fancy but for Rio and the Mardis Gras, I'd make an exception. the shrimps sound wonderful!

Mental Mummy, Florence is at the very top of my list. Singapore would be a revisit but I was only a child when I was there, even so, I have such strong memories. I'd love to go back someday.

Funnily enough Zoe, I remember the airport really well for some reason. Maybe it was the really odd lemonade I had there that was made with some kind of powder, it was truly horrible! :)

Would you believe I've never seen Room With A View!? Must correct this heinous mistake this weekend. As for Florence, it's where I fell in love with my husband all over again. Definitely worth it.
