Suddenly I feel less alone - slightly less mad and slightly more justified in having mugs for different occasions ....
My morning cup of tea mug and my favourite mug of all - I found it in a charity shop about a year ago and I just love it. You just can't drink tea from a big chunky mug and this one is thin and elegant.
After two cups of tea I'm ready to move on to coffee and this mug is from a set of four that I bought in Marks and Spencers about 3 years ago. I love the colours.
My herbal tea mug. Love this mug too - it's much thicker than my ordinary tea mug. I'd also use this one for lem sip.
My hot chocolate mug. This one is perfect for Wittards dreamtime hot chocolate with cinnamon. It's big and I can wrap my hands around it to keep them warm and (if that weren't enough) it has BEACH HUTS on it :)).
I hate this mug and never use it. It's so damned ugly!!!
It was given to me as a set of four by someone who I really think can't have any idea of what I'm all about at all! I've managed to break the other three but somehow this one has survived and lurks at the back of the cupboard, I may try 'accidently' dropping it as I put it away again ...
I'll bet it's not just Kate and I that have this little foible .... is it?

hello, love the name of your blog so had to come and check out your mug listography!
Don't blame you for the 'accidents' with the last one, a not very friendly mug at all... (can mugs be friendly?!)
I too have a hideous mug lurking at the back of my cupboard. I've managed to smash to other 3 so thanks for the reminder; I might go & finish off the set right now... :)
Charity shops are definitely a good source of new mugs and totally agree on drinking tea from a thin mug
I like how you have specific mugs for different drinks. Can I admit that I don't find the hideous mug that offensive? Don't shout at me :-)
This mug listography is such an insight into everyones little quirks! Love all your mugs even the last one!
Aw, poor ugly mug with the vertical stripes. I don't think it's that bad but as you've killed off its whole family I don't expect it has much to live for ;)
I'm all about size with my tea mug. Big enough for maximum volume but also small enough so it's still hot when I get to the end. Size matters. The rest is meh.
Sarah - you have cute mugs, and somehow I'm not surprised......
I said this somewhere else, but I can see myself buying new mugs so I can move in higher mug circles...lol
Lou :-)
Hi Sarah! Long time, no hear! I think there's a lot more weirdos in the world than Kate thought. I too have many different cups for different occasions but my weirdness extends to not having too many different cups in my cupboard. I know. Mrs Anal! LOL
Anne xx
Ha! I love that you have a mug for every occasion. That's not even the slightest bit weird. Honest *cough*
Love the beach hut one but have to admit I'm not a fan of the triangular mug. (Seems we're not the only weird ones doesn't it!)
YES - tea and esp herbal tea needs a thin mug.
My OH, knowing how much I love mugs brought me one home from a biking trip to Berchtesgarten (where Hitler had his holiday home)- UGLIEST thing I have ever seen, AND hexagonal. WTF?!
It's hidden right at the back of a cupboard. I think I'm going to break it soon.
Yes Slimi - mugs can be friendly and unfriendly and to me, thta one just isn't :)
Hope you did Rebecca - I can't bring myself to do it on purpose but it's GOT to go!
I ove charity shops moaf - I keep planning a post showing all my finds - I will get around to it one day!
Haha ffhm - if I had an adress I'd gladly send you the mug :)
It is isn't it moat - I love it and plan on heading over to leave a few comments now (I have been VERY remiss so far!)
Don't go making me feel sorry for it mlsm - the mug MUST go! ;)
Ah but sometimes K it really isn't the size wot matters but what you do with it ;) xx
I've got some real shockers too Lou and unsurprisingly not a full set of anything but that's kind of the way I like things :) xx
Anne!!! Lovely to see you :) I do pop in from time to time, LOVE your blog but I've been really bad at leaving comments lately which is pretty bad seeing as how I love to get them so I will be pulling my socks up in future :) x
Yep, that's what I thought mym .... ;)
I adore the beach hut one Kate (also from a charity shop and I have two!:)
How the hell do you drink out of hexagonal mug hm??? Id end up waering most of it! I'd like to think it was a thoughtful gift but then, I was bought a flower press once .... take it from one who learned by experience - break the damned thing and ban him from buying you mugs in the future! ;)
I love the beach hut mug!
Me too Jennifer. I bought in in Lyme Regis a couple of months ago -Funnily enough I'd been looking at mugs in another shop and decided I didn't want to pay £6 for one with deckchairs on and then found these in a charity shop almost next door £2 for a pair!! Very happy :)
I am amazed at how many of us have this mug addiction. I also have specific uses/drinks for each one.
I need that beach hut mug in my life! Stunning!
I thought I was alone....:)
So good to have found so many kindred spirits when it comes to mugs...I think all of your mug choices are very appropriate. I love mugs soo much (and cup and saucer sets too) that whenever I can't think of what to give someone as a gift, I usually buy them a mug or a set of mugs. Alas, not all share my passion...apparently I've become a tad predictable and certain people have begun to expect a mug as a gift from moi...You can get me a mug anytime, Sarah :D
great blog! I love blogs that show insights into our lives in an ordinary way.... you could always use that ugly mug as a toothbrush holder.... You've got me thinking about the mugs in my life. Maybe I'll do a very late copy blog to show you mine...
Thanks all - I loved this one and I loved reading about other peoples collections too.
Do it LHW (I shall be watching for it:)
